Flowers with a personal touch

Our mission is simple: to share the joy of flowers in a way that’s thoughtful, sustainable, and deeply personal.

At Florious, every arrangement is made with care — for you, and for the planet.

The face behind the flowers

Hi, I’m Yani — pronounced “Shani” (but that’s a story for another time).

I migrated from Argentina to Australia 20 years ago and am a proud mum to two neurodivergent daughters. After many years as a full-time carer, I found myself looking for a creative outlet — something that would bring calm, joy, and purpose. I found it in flowers.

Choosing sustainable floristry practices.

While training in floristry, I discovered the hidden environmental impact behind much of the industry — imported blooms with high carbon footprints, heavy chemical use, floral foam that breaks down into microplastics, and excess single-use plastics. It was confronting, but it didn’t deter me. It pushed me to do things differently.

I am now committed to bringing the joy of flowers to people in a way that doesn’t harm our planet. By using locally grown, seasonal flowers when available, avoiding floral foam, and reducing plastic use. I aim to create arrangements that celebrate nature while caring for it.

More than flowers

But Florious is more than just flowers. It’s also a way to show my daughters that it’s never too late to build your own path, and that there’s room in the world for different ways of working, creating, and thriving. My dream for my business is to be able to create meaningful employment opportunities for young neurodivergent women.

Because flowers – like people – bloom best when nurtured with care.
